For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 30, 2025

Due to crane work on Monroe Street in Rockville, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOTs) Ride On bus routes 46, 47, 54, and 56 will experience detours on Saturday, Feb.1. Details of the detours can be found below.

ROUTE 46 TO MEDICAL CENTER

From North Washington Street and East Middle Lane, left on East Middle Lane, right on 355, left into the station.

Stops Bypassed:

  • Stop 24148: Monroe Street & Monroe Place in Rockville
  • Stop 23406: E Jefferson Street & Maryland Avenue in Rockville
  • Stop 26948: S Washington Street & Montgomery Avenue in Rockville

Alternate Stops: Rockville Metro Station

ROUTES 47 & 56 TOWARDS ROCKVILLE STATION

From Monroe Street and East Jefferson, left on East Jefferson, right on South Washington Street, right on East Middle Lane, right on 355, left into the station.

Stops Bypassed:

  • Stop 24148: Monroe Street & Monroe Place in Rockville

Alternate Stops: Rockville Metro Station

 

ROUTE 54 TOWARDS ROCKVILLE STATION

From East Jefferson and South Washington, left on South Washington, right on East Middle Lane, right on 355, left into the station.

Stops Bypassed:

  • Stop 24148: Monroe Street & Monroe Place in Rockville
  • Stop 23406: E Jefferson Street & Maryland Avenue in Rockville

Alternate Stops: Rockville Metro Station


ROUTES 46 & 54 LEAVING ROCKVILLE STATION

Left onto 355, right onto East Jefferson Street, back on route.

Stops Bypassed:

  • Stop 24150: Monroe Street & Monroe Place in Rockville

ROUTES 47 & 56 LEAVING ROCKVILLE STATION

Left onto 355, right onto East Jefferson Street, back on route.

Ride On bus fare is only $1 and monthly passes are $22.50 using SmarTrip, cash, or tokens. Seniors age 65 or older, persons with disabilities and youth ages 18 and under all ride free using specialized SmarTrip cards.

Riders can plan trips online using the free Ride On Trip Planner App.
