Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be the featured guest on the 13th anniversary of Montgomery al Día (Montgomery Today), the County’s award-winning Spanish-language radio show, during a special live broadcast at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.   Montgomery Al Dia

Hosted and produced by Lorna Virgilí since its inception in April 2012, the program airs every Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Radio America WACA 900 AM and is livestreamed on the County’s Spanish-language Facebook page at MontgomeryCountyEnEspanol.

“Montgomery al Día is an essential part of our communications strategy and equity efforts, helping ensure that our growing Hispanic and Latino communities have access to timely, relevant information in their own language,” said County Executive Elrich. “I deeply appreciate the commitment and consistency Lorna Virgilí has brought to this show for 13 years. Her dedication has made it easier for Spanish-speaking residents to connect with County government and get the support and resources they need. I always enjoy being a guest and I’m proud to celebrate this milestone with her and with the community that relies on this program.”

Since launching in 2012, Montgomery al Día has hosted more than 400 guests and received national recognition from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its innovative approach to multilingual outreach. The program has contributed to increased Hispanic engagement in County services, public forums and the MC311 helpline.

The County’s Office of Public Information has expanded Spanish-language outreach through daily news briefs, PSAs and weekly public agendas during the morning show Calentando la Mañana (Warming Up the Morning), the longest-running talk show on WACA 900 AM.
