Below are Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) and partners’ transportation-related schedule changes for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday, Nov. 27. 

  • MCDOT offices - Closed. 

  • Ride On bus service - Will operate on a Sunday schedule. View route schedules here

  • Ride On Flash bus service - The Orange Route will operate on a Weekend/Holiday The Blue Route (typically, weekday only) will not be in service. 

  • TRiPS Silver Spring commuter store - Will be closed. 

  • TRiPS mobile commuter store - Will be closed. 

  • Metrorail and Metrobus - Metrorail will operate on a Special Reduced Holiday schedule with trains running from 6 a.m. to midnight. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. On Friday, Nov. 29 Metro will operate on a regular schedule. 

  • MARC Train - No service on all three lines on Thursday, Nov. 27. On Friday, Nov. 28 the Penn Line will operate on a Saturday schedule and there will be no service on the Brunswick and Camden lines. Learn more at mta.maryland.gov/marc-holiday-service.  

  • MTA Commuter bus - Will not operate on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, with the exception of Route 201 (Gaithersburg – BWI Business District), which will operate on the Weekend/Holiday "S" schedule. Learn more at mta.maryland.gov/thanksgiving-day-service
