Department of Liquor Control Relocates Montgomery Village Liquor Store

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, June 25, 2013

In an effort to better serve its customers, the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control (DLC) has relocated the Montgomery Village liquor store from its Watkins Mill Road location to the Goshen Crossing Shopping Center, located at 20004 Goshen Rd. The Montgomery Village store is one of DLC’s 23 retail establishments. Two more stores are slated to open later this year – Seneca Meadows and Clarksburg Village.

“The new location with its increased space provides us an opportunity to make improvements such as larger aisles, easier shopping and more than 500 additional products,” said DLC Director George Griffin. “The industry changes so frequently with more and more choices being offered and our customers demand these new and unique items. The new store has twice as much square footage making it possible to carry a larger inventory.”

The Department of Liquor Control has contributed more than $240 million to the County’s General Fund in the last decade. DLC offers approximately 3,000 items in stock and will special order many other items for customers.

The 6,400 square-foot store opened in its new location on June 21 and is managed by Damian DeVriendt, who can be reached by calling 240-773-2017.
