Maryland Attorney General Investigating Georgia Avenue Fatal Collision

For Immediate Release: Thursday, December 14, 2023

Gaithersburg, MD - On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at approximately 10:17 p.m., 4th District officers were attempting to stop a suspect that struck a marked Montgomery County police cruiser and fled during an attempted traffic stop.

The suspect, driving a white Nissan Maxima, crashed into a Toyota Corolla before colliding with a Honda Pilot at Georgia Avenue and Henderson Avenue.

One occupant, a 19-year-old male, inside of the Maxima was apprehended after the collision.

A second occupant, the passenger inside of the Maxima was pronounced dead at the scene.

Per Maryland law, the investigation into the collision has been handed over to the Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID). All media inquiries should be directed to the IID.

Any information regarding this case will be released by the IID.
