The Montgomery County Department of Police is joining representatives from Hyundai in a news conference to kick off our second three-day event to help Hyundai owners prevent auto-theft.

Representative will provide details regarding the free software update to owners of all 2011-2021 Hyundai owners and lessees with a mechanical ‘turn-to-start’ key ignition.

The software upgrade event will provide eligible Hyundai vehicles with anti-theft software developed to protect against the theft mode popularized on social media. This upgrade will be offered free of charge.

The free anti-theft software event will take place Friday and Saturday (August 2 and August 3) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (August 4) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Paint Brach High School, 14121 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville.

There is no cost. All visiting Hyundai owners will receive a complimentary steering wheel lock.
