Detectives Investigate Georgia Avenue Stabbing; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the entrance of the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
The investigation has revealed that at approximately 2:20 a.m., an unknown male suspect argued with a 77-year-old male victim over property at the location. The argument escalated, and the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the forehead. The suspect then left the scene.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the location and obtained a description of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Black male, in his twenties or thirties, with short black locs, wearing a black shirt, a long gray scarf, light colored pants, a watch and black shoes, and armed with a folding knife.
