Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Pedestrian Collision

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2024.    

At approximately 9:16 a.m., Montgomery County 4th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 3500 block of Cherry Valley Drive for the report of a traffic collision involving a Ford F-250 and a pedestrian.   

Upon arrival, first responders located the pedestrian, who sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.  

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was sitting on the tailgate of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck being used at the work site. While the truck was backing, the pedestrian fell from the tailgate to the roadway and was run over by the backing truck.  
 

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
