Man Charged with Wisconsin Avenue Thefts

Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Station have arrested and charged 45-year-old Arlic Williams, of Washington, D.C., with a series of thefts that occurred at the Brooks Brothers store in the 5500 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda.

 

The investigation by detectives has revealed that from February 2023 to August 2024, an unknown suspect, later identified as Williams, entered the Brooks Brothers store on separates occasions, stole merchandise and left the scene.

 

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of each incident and obtained a description of the suspect. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Williams as the suspect.

 

On Monday, September 30, 2024, detectives applied and obtained an arrest warrant against Williams, charging him with theft scheme: $25, 000 to under $100,000, theft: $1,500 to under $25, 0000 and other related charges.

 

On Thursday, October 17, Williams was transported from a detention center in Washington, D.C., where he was being held on unrelated charges, to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was served with the arrest warrant.  He has been released on a $5, 000 unsecured personal bond.
