Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are asking for the public’s help in locating the family of 56-year-old Juan Ixpata-Vasquez, who was critically injured on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
At approximately 6:11 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to University Boulevard at East Franklin Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by at least one vehicle. Upon arrival, they found Ixpata-Vasquez suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
CRU detectives have been unable to locate any next of kin or family members. He is believed to live in the Silver Spring or Hyattsville area. Detectives urge anyone with information about Ixpata-Vasquez’s family to contact the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
