Detectives Investigate Georgia Avenue Auto Theft; Photos of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Auto Crime Enforcement Section (ACES) are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in the 8800 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring for an auto theft.

The investigation has revealed that the suspect entered the lobby of the building, took a set of car keys from the security desk and left the scene in a red 2020 Toyota RAV4 bearing Maryland registration plates 7EE2348.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage and obtained a description of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black male, between 20 and 25-years-old, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 175 lbs., with dark hair, a slim/average build and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage jacket, black pants and black boots.
