Statement by County Executive Ike Leggett on the Passing of Wheaton Community Activist Marian Fryer
For Immediate Release: Tuesday 12 September
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend Marian Fryer. For many years Marian served as the unofficial ‘mayor’ of Wheaton, a title justly deserved by her passion over decades to making Wheaton and all of Montgomery County a better place to live, work and raise a family. Truly she was the ‘heart’ of Wheaton and made a difference for all of us she worked with.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and her legion of friends. She will be sorely missed.”
