Location: 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 1200, Bethesda, MD. Topic: "Implantable Technology: When Traditional Hearing Aids Just Aren't Enough". Moderator: Lise Hamlin. Guest Speaker: Kathy Wall, Au.D. Dr. Wall will provide an overview of implantable technology. Included will be a description of the different surgical procedures for cochlear implants, Baha (bone anchored devices) and Esteem, a new surgical implant intended for sensorineural hearing loss. We will also discuss the criteria required to qualify for each of them. Dr. Kathy Wall is a Montgomery County resident, working as a clinical audiologist around the DC area since 1977. She has served as the professional advisor for the HLA-Montgomery County Chapter since 2004. Parking is free in all Montgomery County open parking lots, and the Cheltenham and St. Elmo garages on weekends. Refreshments will be provided.
