MCTrans Meeting - Community Safety Program

MCTrans Meeting – Thursday, November 8th from 7:30pm to 9pm. Program: Community Safety Program, with Officer Michael S. Prather, Public Communications Officer, Montgomery County Police. They are having this meeting as many of our adult children with disabilities walk in the neighborhoods and use public transportation: bus and metro. Our neighborhoods are vulnerable especially in the evening hours. Unfortunately attacks and robberies are up in Montgomery County and elsewhere in Maryland. They will discuss guidelines to protect ourselves when walking in the neighborhood. What to do if you are confronted by perpetrators, physically threatened or robbed? Who to contact? What should we expect from the police department in handling a reported incident in your neighborhood? Adult children are welcome since many of them are gaining independence in the community or will soon and need to be aware how to stay safe.
