Welcome to DHCA's Online Rental Facility Rent Rate Survey

This secure and user-friendly website has been developed to collect data for Rental Facility Rent Rate Survey.

General Information

Under the provisions of Chapter 29, Landlord-Tenant Relations, Montgomery County Code, Section 29-51, the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs conducts an annual survey of residential rental facilities located within the County. Landlords are required to provide information regarding rents, rent increases, fees, vacancies, and leasing practices. The information collected is tabulated and published annually in the Department of Housing and Community Affairs Annual Rental Facility Report. Governmental planning agencies, landlords, potential investors, and renters use this information to help identify market trends. Rent and vacancy information provides a sense of the competitive conditions in Montgomery County.

Survey Specific Information

The Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs rental facility survey has two sections. The first section is Facility Information. The questions in this section are designed to collect information of a facility wide basis including, but not limited to, types of fee, security deposit requirements, types of amenities, and leasing practices. The second section is Unit Information. The questions in this section are designed to collect information on a unit by unit basis including, but not limited to, specific unit ID/address, number of bedrooms, occupancy status, and rent information.
