2026 Rental Housing Survey Launches April 1st

Effective April 1, 2026, the Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA) will launch the mandatory 2026 Annual Rental Housing Survey for all rental properties pursuant to Montgomery County Code 29-51.  This year, the survey was updated to enable its incorporation into the DHCA Housing Portal in future years.

Properties located within the incorporated municipalities of the City of Gaithersburg, the City of Rockville, the City of Takoma Park, the Town of Barnesville, and the Town of Laytonsville are not required to submit the survey.

In preparation for the launch, please review the 2026 Annual Rental Housing Survey Changes and gather the required documents to comply by April 30, 2026. Please note that landlords are required to submit lease information from July 23, 2024 to present.
