Celebration and Ribbon-Cutting at The Bonifant, Mixed-Income Senior Rental Apartments

County Executive Isiah Leggett and federal, state and local housing officials will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration at The Bonifant, a mixed-income apartment building for seniors in downtown Silver Spring, beginning at 11 a.m.

Leggett will be joined by County Council President Nancy Floreen, Secretary of Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Kenneth Holt, U.S. Housing and Urban Development D.C. Field Office Director Marvin Turner, Montgomery Housing Partnership President Robert Goldman, Donohoe Development President Peter Gartlan; NeighborWorks America President Paul Weech; and Enterprise Community Partners Vice President David Bowers.

The $44 million development was completed in June and provides 149 apartments and 6,300 square feet of retail space next door to the new Silver Spring Library. The ribbon-cutting event will be followed by a light lunch and open house.
