Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich to Announce Achievement of Significant Housing Goals at Twinbrook’s Halpine View

Will announce a land transfer agreement with Halpine View Apartments that will expand deeply affordable housing when redevelopment occurs, building on the 'No Net Loss' requirement to preserve 564 affordable housing units.

Halpine View Apartments, Besley Court, Rockville

County Executive Marc Elrich will be joined by County Council Member Sidney Katz and representatives of the Halpine View Apartment property to celebrate the achievement of two significant housing goals:

  1. County Executive Marc Elrich will announce a land-transfer agreement with Halpine View Apartments that will expand deeply affordable housing when redevelopment occurs; and,

  2. The land agreement builds on an Affordable Housing “No Net Loss” requirement, advocated by the County Executive and adopted by the County Council in the 2019 Veirs Mill Corridor Master Plan.

Together, these two actions set precedents for preserving and enhancing the availability of affordable housing in the County. 

The event will take place on July 8 at 11 a.m. at the Halpine View Apartment property in Rockville, adjacent to the intersection of Besley Court and Crookston Lane. The rain date for the event will be Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m.
