County Executive Marc Elrich to Join Maryland Department of Health and Live Chair Health at Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Silver Spring Barbershop

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will join Live Chair Health and representatives from the Maryland Department of Health at a vaccination and health information event as part of the State’s “Haircuts for Health: Getting Beyond COVID” effort to support equitable and convenient access to vaccinations for hard-to-reach communities.

The first 30 visitors to receive a COVID-19 vaccination will receive a free haircut.

As a result of Montgomery County’s equity, communication and outreach efforts has resulted in 88 percent of eligible residents (age 12 and older) being fully vaccinated.  The gap between the vaccination rate for Black residents is now only 3 percent below those of White residents.  This gap was once as high as 18 percent.
