Weekly Media Briefing with Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Other County Executives
For Immediate Release: Wednesday, August 3, 2022
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and other representatives from the County Government who help lead the County's ongoing COVID-19 response efforts will host their weekly, virtual media briefing at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
The County Executive will be joined by James Bridgers, acting health officer for Montgomery County, and Sean O’Donnell, public health emergency preparedness manager, to discuss the reasons why Montgomery County has, for the second consecutive week, registered a COVID-19 Community Level Status of "high" and what it means for the public.
The County Executive will also be joined by Maryland State Delegate Eric Luedtke (D-14), who represents East County, to discuss joint efforts to attract businesses to the County in response to the current anti-abortion climate across the U.S. In the two months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, ending Federal protection for abortions, 10 states have moved forward with trigger laws that will ban most abortions in their states and others could follow suit.
These media briefings offer reporters a consistent opportunity to reach these County officials to discuss how Montgomery County is managing the health crisis and to address the County’s robust public health efforts.
The weekly media briefings are held via Zoom. Members of the media who wish to gain access to participate in the calls should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o'connor@montgomerycountymd.gov by 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 3. Login information will then be provided.
RSVP: Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
