Montgomery Executive Elrich, Council President Glass to Join Ceremonies Marking Completion of $74 Million White Flint West Workaround on Thursday, March 9

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Evan Glass, County Councilmembers, County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Director Chris Conklin, other County officials and community groups will join ceremonies at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, to mark the completion of the White Flint West Workaround project. The $74 million project will support the future development plans of the Pike District in North Bethesda as a public transit-focused epicenter for health computing.

The outdoor event will take place on the corner of Grand Park and Banneker Street in North Bethesda.

MCDOT headed up the design, land acquisition, site improvements, utility relocations and managed construction for the project. The project was delivered on time and on budget.

The local business community and advocacy groups were heavily involved in providing valuable feedback for the project.

WHAT: Construction completion announcement of a network of roads and road alignments in the Pike District known as the White Flint West Workaround project. The project will support the future vision for the Pike District.

WHERE: Outdoors at the corner of Grand Park Avenue and Banneker Street, North Bethesda (at the Banneker Street Pop-up Park by the Montgomery County Conference Center garage). NOTE: The event will move indoors to the Marriott Conference Center lobby in case of inclement weather.
