Montgomery County to Host 10th Annual Energy Summit Tuesday, March 28, and Wednesday, March 29, in Silver Spring

Montgomery County Council President Evan Glass, Climate Change Program Manager for the Maryland Department of the Environment Mark Stewart and County Chief Administrative Officer Richard Madaleno will speak at 9:15 a.m. on the second day of 10th Annual Montgomery County Energy Summit on Wednesday, March 29, at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Downtown Silver Spring. The first day of the two-day event is Tuesday, March 28.

Later in the afternoon on March 29, Holly Jamesen Carr, director of the Solar Decathlon for the U.S. Department of Energy, will join the closing panel discussion. It will be moderated by Inside Climate News journalist Aman Azhar.

The summit is focused on preparing the commercial building community for compliance with energy benchmarking, building energy performance standards and emerging building codes. Attendees will explore requirements and opportunities in these areas. The event will have hands-on learning opportunities and will provide case studies from commercial and multifamily buildings.

Both days of the summit will have an “innovation alley” showcasing products and services.
