Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will join Maryland Governor Wes Moore, County Council President Evan Glass and Tom Deyo, CEO of the Montgomery County Green Bank, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, for the launch of a solar project that will highlight the benefits of bringing energy efficiency and renewable energy to affordable multifamily properties. The event will be at Seneca Village Apartments, which are located at 750 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg.

The Green Bank is financing the 2.18-megawatt solar project at Seneca Village Apartments, a major multifamily housing owner that initiated the project. 

The project is the largest rooftop solar project on an affordable multifamily property in Montgomery County.  It was completed using an innovative financing structure that the Green Bank led, drawing in investment from clean-energy, mission-based lenders from outside of the County.
