Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Evan Glass Kick Off Pride Month with Sixth Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on June 10

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Councilmember Evan Glass will be joined by members of the Council and community leaders for the County’s Sixth Annual Flag Raising Ceremony. The community is invited to participate in the ceremony that will take place at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 10, in the plaza adjacent to the Executive Office Building in Rockville. 

The Executive Office Building is at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville.

LGBTQ+ Victory Institute President and CEO Annise Parker, the former mayor of Houston, Texas, and one of the first openly LGBTQ+ mayors of a major U.S. city, Rev. Ali K.C. Bell of Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, and SEIU 500 Executive Director Travis Simon are the featured speakers for the event.

Speakers, councilmembers and LGBTQ+ community leaders will arrive in the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s #RideWithPride Ride On bus, which will be wrapped with the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag, at 8:50 a.m. at the Executive Office Building roundabout.

Where: Outside of the Executive Office Building on Veterans Memorial Plaza, which is located at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville (on the Government Complex Center Terrace located between the Montgomery County Circuit Court annex and the Executive Office Building).
