To vote in the 2024 Presidential General Election, Montgomery County citizens need to be registered voters. If not already registered, citizens must complete and submit their voter registration application no later than Tuesday, October 15, 2024. To register to vote in Maryland, you must be a U.S. citizen, a Maryland resident, and at least 16 years of age, but cannot vote unless you are at least 18 years old by the 2024 Presidential General Election on November 5, 2024.
To register to vote online, your personal information must match the information about you that is on file with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA). This includes your name, date of birth, driver’s license number, ID number, or Learner's Permit number, and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Individuals without a Maryland Driver’s license, Learner’s Permit or MVA ID may visit www.777vote.org to download a voter registration application to mail to the Montgomery County Board of Elections, 18753 N. Frederick Ave., Suite 210, Gaithersburg, MD 20879, or call 240-777- 8500 to have a voter registration application mailed to you.
Same-day registration will be available during the early voting period (Thursday, October 24 through Thursday, October 31, 2024), and on Election Day (Tuesday, November 5, 2024). Bring a document that proves where you live: your MVA-issued license, ID card, Learner’s Permit or change of address card, or a paycheck stub, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document showing your name and current address.
