Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will join County Council President Andrew Friedson, County Council Vice President Kate Stewart, MHP President Robert A. Goldman and project stakeholders for a groundbreaking ceremony of The Chimes at North Bethesda at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 in Rockville.
The Chimes at North Bethesda is located at 11901 Nebel Street in Rockville.
Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP) will develop The Chimes at North Bethesda, a newly constructed building that will provide 163 affordable multifamily rental units. The County has committed $19,450,000 toward the $86,429,227 total development cost for the project.
Through this development project, MHP will transform a vacant parcel of land into critically needed affordable housing. The property will contain six stories of efficiency, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The property’s convenient location is within .5 miles of the North Bethesda Metro Station, close to the Pike and Rose commercial area and the new University of Maryland Institute of Health Computing.
Funding partners include the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the Maryland Housing and Community Development (DHCD), DHCD's Community Development Administration, DHCD's Revitalization Programs, Freddie Mac, Amazon Housing Equity Fund, Capital One, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, Truist Bank, NeighborWorks America and Enterprise.
