The Montgomery County Board of Elections will host an Open House and tours of its building -- including its new election workers training and canvass center -- on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, Gaithersburg, MD 20879. Tours will commence at the top of each hour from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will include presentations relating to how the Board and staff are structured, voter services (including candidate filing, voter registration, mail-in and provisional ballots, and a demonstration of the mail-in ballot sorting equipment), outreach, recruitment and training of election workers, the IT warehouse (including a demonstration of ballot-scanning equipment), the operations warehouse, and the new training and canvass center.
“If you’ve ever wondered how the Board of Elections does its work – including how voters are registered to vote, how ballots are returned to us, how they are processed when they arrive and how they are counted – this is a chance to see it in person,” Board President David Naimon said. “We’d welcome residents of all party affiliations or personal beliefs to meet Board members and staff members and see for yourselves how the democratic process works in Montgomery County.”
“The new Training and Canvass Center will allow the Board of Elections to better serve Montgomery County voters,” Board Secretary Amie Hoeber commented. "Modernizing our facility and opening it for these public tours exemplifies our commitment to ensuring every vote is counted accurately and efficiently and that our processes are transparent to all residents," Hoeber continued.
