Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Natali Fani-González to Announce $1.7 Million in Grant Awards for Hate Crime Prevention and Security

Monday, April 20 at 12:30 p.m.

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Natali Fani-González, Councilmembers, and local leaders will announce $1.7 million in grant awards to help nonprofit and faith-based organizations. The money will be distributed to 95 organizations.  

An additional $500,000 was requested in March in response to threats tied to the ongoing conflict with Iran, bringing the total assistance during this fiscal year to $1.7 million. Montgomery County remains the only local government to support local faith groups and nonprofits in this manner.
