Peace Day

Council Vice President Sidney Katz presented a proclamation recognizing July 17 as Peace Day in Montgomery County, in honor of the memory of Mattie Stepanek, world-renowned poet and best-selling author who believed, "Peace is possible!" The Council was joined for the proclamation by Mattie’s mother, Jeni Stepanek, and Jackie Zamora, member of the Board of Directors of the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation.
