African Heritage Month 2022

The Montgomery County Council commemorates African Heritage Month on Sept. 13, 2022, recognizing and celebrating the contributions of individuals who have brought aspects of African culture to the County, contributing to the region’s diversity and rich cultural traditions.The presentation included a video featuring Emmy nominated musician Cheick Hamala Diabate from Mali, dancer and artistic director Michael Friend, Ethiopian painter Solomon Asfaw, Egyptian Chef Iman Moussa, Gambian Chef Hatib Joof, food historian and writer Emily Dietsch and Nigerian fashion designer Busayo Shittu.
