Youth Town Hall

Nearly 300 students and young residents of Montgomery County attended our annual Youth Town Hall on November 29th to talk with their local government representatives and ask questions about the most important issues in their lives. The diverse subjects covered by Town Hall participants of all ages included #STEM education opportunities, mental health and bullying prevention, gang activity, climate change and renewable energy, pre-K education, and issues affecting minority students and new arrivals to the U.S. We are proud of the quality and thoughtfulness of the questions we received and the eagerness of our County's young people to engage with Councilmembers.

The Council thanks all the young people who participated, Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery County Recreation, Montgomery College, County Cable Montgomery, and the many socially engaged, youth-advocating community nonprofits who helped make the Town Hall a rewarding experience.
