Brian Quinn, Milken Educator Award recipient

Councilmembers Hans Riemer and Craig Rice, chair of the Education & Culture Committee, recognized Brian Quinn, math teacher at East Silver Spring Elementary School, for being the only recipient in the state of Maryland of the Milken Educator Award recognizing excellence in education. Mr. Quinn uses data and communication to improve his classes, leads math intervention groups to raise students’ proficiency, and regularly volunteers and participates in extracurricular activities.
