ROCKVILLE, Md., March 23, 2007—Montgomery County Council President Marilyn Praisner today joined the list of people around the County, and the State, who have been sadden by the death Wednesday of Judge L. Leonard Ruben.
Ruben, one of Montgomery County's best-known judges and the husband of former Maryland State Senator Ida G. Ruben, died after collapsing outside the district courthouse in downtown Silver Spring. He was 81.
“We are all saddened to learn about the passing of Judge L. Leonard Ruben,” said Praisner. “He had a long and distinguished history as a dedicated public servant. He cared deeply about this County and its people. Judge Ruben was always a good friend and our Councilmembers will miss him. The Council extends its deepest sympathy to his wife, former State Senator Ida Ruben, and to his family.”
