The Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store (MCS) reopened this week to add value to or purchase regular and Senior SmarTrip cards, the Ride On Youth Cruiser Pass and other Ride On passes and MARC Commuter Rail passes. (Note that for now during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ride On remains free.) Patrons can also register for Capital Bikeshare and obtain key fobs, and obtain transportation information, schedules and maps. Knowledgeable staff inside the MCS help customers complete transactions and they provide customized advice about the best routes or passes for their situation.

MCDOT’s MCS is a 38-foot Winnebago that is outfitted as a full-service commuter store that brings transportation services directly to commuters, residents and tourists throughout the County. The MCS helps promote the use of transit and other travel options that reduce traffic congestion and are a critical part of MCDOT’s balanced and comprehensive transportation system. By traveling to customers, the MCS provides the added convenience and accessibility to the broader segment community so they can take advantage of MCDOT’s transportation services.
