For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 1, 2022
All bus stops at the west side of the Rockville Metro Station will be moved back to their original locations adjacent to the west entrance of the station effective Feb. 13. The bus stops were temporarily relocated during the Rockville canopy replacement project. Temporary bus shelters used during the construction will be moved to the original bus stops until they can be replaced with permanent shelters in late spring or early summer.
The west side Kiss & Ride will reopen a week later on Feb. 21.
Bus interiors will continue to be cleaned by the County's Department of General Services twice daily with a hospital-grade anti-viral disinfectant. Bus filter and ventilation systems are also treated each night with a disinfectant.
All passengers are required to wear face coverings when traveling by public transportation. Riders must continue wearing the covering for the entire time of their trip. All MCDOT buses have a supply of face coverings for those who cannot provide their own.
