On Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing to discuss the proposed construction of sidewalks, providing a safe walkway to Forest Knolls Elementary School, on:
At the virtual hearing, MCDOT will present the project details, costs and schedule and obtain public testimony. If advanced, the completed project will enhance safety for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, as they travel to and from the nearby elementary school. Public input is encouraged and will influence the orientation and location of the sidewalk. The sidewalk project was initiated by MCDOT’s Safe Routes to School Program.
Online registration is required to attend. On the morning of the meeting, an electronic invitation will be sent to those who registered.
Prior to the virtual meeting, the public is encouraged to review the proposal files on the project website.
Written testimony or questions may be submitted to MCDOT’s Safe Routes to School Program by email to [email protected]. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony. All information provided including questions and testimony will become a matter of public record.
