Regular Routing Returned to Ride On Bus Route 56 at Edison Park Drive and Main Street in Gaithersburg

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, September 17, 2025

Beginning in early September, Montgomery County Department of Transportation's (MCDOT) Ride On Bus Route 56 experienced a detour due to construction at Edison Park Drive and Main Street in Gaithersburg, which was originally scheduled to continue through the end of September. This detour has now been lifted and routing has returned to normal.

The County implemented a zero-fare policy, that went into effect on Sunday, June 29, for all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex and Flash buses.
