Montgomery County Council Education Committee Chair Craig Rice, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Interim Superintendent of Schools Larry Bowers and Montgomery College’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Sanjay Rai at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 16, will host the fourth of five public forums they are holding to provide information, and seek input, on the programs and budgets of the County’s public school system and its community college. The fourth forum will be held at Kingsview Middle School.

Kingsview Middle School is located at 18909 Kingsview Rd. in Germantown. The forum is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The series of Education Budget Meetings will conclude on March 23 at Churchill High School in Potomac. The previous forums were held at the Silver Spring Civic Building, Sherwood High School and Gaithersburg High School.

“These forums are providing an opportunity for residents to have their questions answered about the education budgets at both the State and County level from kindergarten through the early years of college,” said Councilmember Rice. “We are talking about how budget decisions are made and are explaining the circumstances concerning the new budget that we are addressing for the fiscal year that begins on July 1. We also are discussing the opportunities residents will have to influence budget decisions. And in this early stage of the budget process, we want to hear from residents about their concerns, their priorities and how they fit with the amount of funding available.”
