This year, Montgomery County received 32 awards for outstanding programs from the National Association of Counties (NACo). This was the second highest number awarded to one jurisdiction.
Included in the NACo awards was a “Best of Category” award given to the Department of Health and Human Services for its submission called, “Something for Everyone: Meeting the Nutritional Needs of Ethnically Diverse Seniors.” This additional category was initiated in 1998 to highlight the outstanding model programs submitted to the awards competition.
“Montgomery County employees constantly strive to provide excellent services to our residents,” said County Executive Douglas M. Duncan. “Being rewarded with 32 awards this year is testament to the hard work and dedication of our workforce and I’m pleased that NACo has recognized their efforts.”

Technology Services – Remote Access Consolidation; Application of GUI Telephone for the Emergency Operations Center; Web Content Management System; Constructing a Regional GIS Database for First Responders; and Building Inventory Application.
