For Immediate Release: Friday, July 1, 2016
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation's Division of Highway Services will begin a full-depth permanent patching project in July in the Fawsett Farms and Dada Woods subdivisions of Potomac. The work is expected to take five weeks, weather permitting.
The project will include excavating the existing pavement, creating a new base with hot mix asphalt and then compacting it to bring it to the level of the existing roadway. The patched roadways will be resurfaced next fall.
During the project, there will be daily short-term parking restrictions; signs will be posted identifying the restrictions. In addition, there are likely to be lane closures and/or alternating one-way traffic patterns. Brief daily road closures may be necessary. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
