For Immediate Release: Friday, October 7, 2016
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be promoting pedestrian safety with its innovative street teams at the Pike District Fall Fest. Wearing back packs with attached StreetSmart safety message banners, the team members engage residents by distributing safety tips and retroreflective zipper pulls that help walkers and bikers stay visible at night.
The Pike District Fall Fest will be held rain or shine on Saturday, October 8 from noon to 2 p.m. at Rockville Pike and Marinelli Road. Marinelli Road will be closed from the White Flint Metro Station to the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel. Take Metro to the White Flint Metro Station or park free at the White Flint Metro Station Parking Garage, on-street parking meters or for two hours at Pike & Rose.
In case of rain, the Fall Fest will be held indoors in the ballroom of the Bethesda North Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road.
