to meet with media on Monday, Dec. 5

Among the topics she will discuss are

the status of the bill to increase

the County minimum wage,

approved landlord-tenant improvements,

highlights of her year as president

 

ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 2, 2016—Montgomery County Council President Nancy Floreen will meet with members of the media at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, to discuss key issues concerning the Council and its respective committees. Among the issues she will talk about are the status of the bill before the Council that would increase the County minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2020. She also will talk about the bill approved this week that will improve the landlord-tenant law and the impact it will have on renters.

 

President Floreen’s one-year term as Council president will conclude on Tuesday, Dec. 5, when the Council elects new officers. On Monday, she will address the highlights of Council actions during her presidency.

 

Council President Floreen’s meeting with members of the media will be held in the SIXTH FLOOR Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.

 

Council President Floreen also will provide an update on the scheduling of steps for the Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan, which the Council began to address this fall.
