Tuesday, March 14: Snow Emergency in Effect and Ride On Operating S Service Plan

For Immediate Release: Monday, March 13, 2017

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has declared a snow emergency that began at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13.

Declaration of a snow emergency by MCDOT means that parking is restricted along any snow emergency route. See list online.

In addition, the MCDOT Director has declared free parking in all County-owned parking garages beginning at 7 p.m. today, March 13 through midnight, Tuesday, March 14. Residents are encouraged to use garages instead of parking on-street to aid road clearing by snow plows.

MCDOT's Ride On bus service is operating a "S Service Plan" on Tuesday. Under the S Service Plan, ride On operates all its weekday routes, except the Route 94, with some service, but the frequency of service may be affected. Note that there may be detours along routes that are icy or hazardous. Be sure to check Ride On's website for the latest information about these possible changes. The S Service Plan  is also available en espanol.
