For Immediate Release: Friday, March 31, 2017
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close the MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) / Randolph Road intersection to reconfigure traffic lanes. During this time, MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) and Randolph Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with no turns permitted through the intersection.
Drivers are urged to plan extra travel time or avoid the area. Weather and progress permitting, crews will open all lanes by 7 p.m. Saturday.
The closure is part of SHA's ongoing project to build an interchange at MD 97 and Randolph Road. For more information, see the SHA's press release.
