Portion of MD 355 Closed for a Week for Construction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 3, 2017

Starting May 3 (weather permitting) and continuing for about a week, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the southbound turning lane and the adjacent southbound travel lane on Rockville Pike and South Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, the previously announced weekend dual-lane closure of Rockville Pike between Woodmont Avenue and Wilson Drive will still occur from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 5, thru 5 a.m. on Monday, May 8.

 

These lane closures are part of the ongoing construction of the MD 355/Rockville Pike crossing project at the Medical Center Metro Station. The crossing project will construct a pedestrian underpass beneath Rockville Pike and deep elevators to the Metrorail mezzanine on the east side of the road, at the entrance to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
