Controlled Blast Planned for Area Near the Medical Center Metro Station on August 4

For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 3, 2017

On Friday, August 4, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a scheduled, controlled, underground blast will occur at the Medical Center Metro station in Bethesda as construction continues for the MD 355 Crossing Project

 

Alarm horns will sound five minutes prior to the blast. Traffic will be halted on Rockville Pike between Jones Bridge Road and South Wood Drive (Navy Gate #2) for approximately 10 minutes. It is anticipated that very minimal vibrations will be felt and that the alarm horns will be heard only by people in the immediate vicinity.
