Portion of Metrorail Red Line to Close for Repairs for 10 Days Starting November 25

The Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro) has announced upcoming track work that will completely close the Red Line between the Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations from November 25 through December 10. Metro will provide bus service to bridge this Red Line closure. 

 

Metro will be rebuilding the interlocking outside Takoma Station.  The interlock is a set of tracks that allows the trains to travel between the tracks for use during single tracking and to turn trains around.  Read more.
