Dockless Bikeshare Begins in Silver Spring

Two dockless bikeshare companies, Limebike and Ofo, have begun operations in Silver Spring, making Montgomery County the first suburban jurisdiction in the U.S. to have such a system. Read more.

Highway Services Completes Projects to Benefit the Environment Under Partnership with DEP

This year, MCDOT swept about 4,000 lane miles of roads and removed 700 tons of abrasives and debris left behind after the winter snow season that would otherwise have found their way into storm drains and eventually waterways. MCDOT also cleaned five miles of pervious pavement to improve stormwater filtering performance. Read more.

MCDOT’s Community Service Day Bike Donation Event a Success

As part of Community Service Week, MCDOT sponsored a bicycle drive and collected 120 child and adult bikes, 21 bike helmets, bike wheels, training wheels and bike gears, all of which were donated to Rockville Bike Hub. Read more.

New Same-Day Service for Metro Access Customers Available in Montgomery County

Abilities-Ride is a new same-day service for MetroAccess customers. In Montgomery County, Regency Taxi will be the primary service provider, with some support from other transportation providers. Regency calls this program "ARMON." Read more.

Transportation Holiday Schedule on Veterans Day, November 10

Ride On and Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on holiday schedules and the TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store will not operate. The TRiPS Commuter Store in the Silver Spring Transit Center will be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A list of all County government closures is available online.
