Montgomery Council President Riemer to meet with media on

Monday, Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m.

 

ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 8, 2017—Newly elected Montgomery County Council President Hans Riemer will meet with members of the media on Monday, December 11 at 11:30 a.m. to discuss key issues concerning the Council and its respective committees.  Some of the issues he will discuss include the Council’s resolution to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and establish a pathway to permanent residency for TPS and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, his testimony on the importance of workplace leave before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, the Council’s update on the County’s Fiscal Plan and economic indicators, and the Council’s recent action on climate change.       

Council President Riemer’s meeting with members of the media will be in the sixth floor conference room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.  

Council President Riemer will meet regularly with members of the media to preview the Council’s weekly activities and discuss local issues. Most meetings will be on Mondays.
