The Importance of Having a Valid Passport
and MCPS’ Efforts to Promote STEM Education are Focus of Council’s Radio America Show
Friday, Jan. 5 at 2:30 p.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 4, 2017— Andrés Rodríguez, spokesperson of the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the United States Department of State, will be the featured guest on “En Sintonia con el Concejo del Condado” (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), this Friday, January 5 at 2:30 p.m. on Radio America (WACA 1540AM). Mr. Rodriguez will discuss the importance of having a passport, and the options available to residents of the United States to renew a passport or obtain a new one. Melisa Rivera, spokesperson of Montgomery County Public Schools and Desiree Bayonet, representative of the Kid Museum will also join “En Sintonía” to discuss the County’s efforts to promote STEM programs – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics programs designed to prepare our younger generation for the careers of tomorrow.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one- hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
